How Much Does a
2 Minute Corporate Video Voiceover Cost?

My Most Frequently Asked Question
- So it deserves an article all to itself!

PRICE IS WHAT YOU PAY.
VALUE IS WHAT YOU GET.

Please can you give me a quotation for a 2 minute Corporate Video?

Video Marketing has seen a huge increase in recent years. In fact, it is estimated that 86% of businesses are now harnessing the power of video. And for good reason! Research has shown that placing a video on a company home page or website landing page can increase conversion rates to 4.8%, in comparison to 2.9% for businesses not using video.

You gotta have a video!

Using voiceover in video is also a no brainer - not only for accessibility and inclusivity reasons (which I personally believe should be enough of a decider!) but because it adds warmth and credibility to a company's brand and message.

I specialise in Corporate Video Voiceover and I see the above question almost daily in my inbox.

Wouldn't it be nice if I could have a template response to these requests?!?

Unfortunately for my clients, however, there is no one-size-fits-all answer.

No two corporate videos are created equal...

All quotes do start however with the same figure: My Basic Session Fee. This is an hourly fee which covers all my recording time, hire of my studio and equipment and the fixed costs associated with my voiceover business. Just as a plumber or locksmith has a 'call-out' fee, us Voiceovers have a 'Session Fee.' My BSF is £275. This is a pretty standard rate for a professional voice artist. Anywhere between £250-£400 per hour is typical.

A 2-5 minute corporate video should (unless extremely complicated) be recorded just fine within this one hour.

Next comes the slightly more complicated bit: Usage!

If you are just using the video for internal communications within your business then you won't need a usage license.

If however, you wish to share the content whether online, paid ads, events, tv or radio broadcast, you will need to purchase a Usage License. The license you need once again isn't a one-size-fits-all number.

These are the deciding factors which will determine the cost of your usage license:

  • The Company / Brand Size

  • Size of Campaign / Audience Reach

  • Duration

  • Geographic Reach

  • Media / Platforms

Depending on the factors above you could expect to pay anywhere between 30-400% BSF (£83-£1100) for a usage license.

I have written a whole post specifically Explaining USAGE to make things nice and clear.
